Composter Trainings - Free

Got yard and food waste?

Ready to transform it into nutrient and microbe-rich compost?

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough’s Solid Waste Division wants to treat you to free how-to-compost classes.  These classes are 2 hours. Offered every spring & fall. Where? Next door to the MSB’s Central Landfill near Palmer at the recycling center/ Valley Community for Recycling Solutions.

Learn about composting with worms (“vermi-composting) and backyard or pile composting in active, participatory, learn-by-doing repeat sessions each fall and spring.

Consider taking the Master Composter training if you have completed the vermi and backyard compost trainings and want to learn how to apply your skills to neighborhood and larger scale.

Free to MatSu Borough residents; others are welcome but I can’t certify you.

Sign up by emailing compost@matsugov.us  and I’ll send you all the registration details of where, and what to bring.

See the flyers (2 versions). I’d love to have you come!
